How to pack a carry-on: 9 tips for more space
Travelling carry-on only saves time, money and nerves. Here is how to fit more in — without the chaos.
- Write a packing list: three tops per week are enough when everything matches.
- Roll clothes instead of folding: fewer creases, less volume.
- Use compression packing cubes: one cube per category, zip the air out.
- Pack heavy items (shoes, laptop) at the bottom, close to your back.
- Liquids: 100 ml max per container, all in one 1-litre bag.
- Choose a hanging toiletry bag: everything within reach in the hotel bathroom.
- Keep jewellery and cables separate in a roll or pouch — nothing tangles.
- Wear your heaviest clothes and jacket on the plane.
- Check your airline's weight and size limits before packing.
